About the village

Slad is a small village that sits in a valley just north of Stroud and south of Painswick. It is a verdant green landscape featuring walking routes through woodland, bluebells and nature reserves.

It was made famous for being the home and resting place of Laurie Lee, who wrote the 1959 novel Cider with Rosie, about life growing up in the village. The tiny village has the Woolpack Inn shown on the poster at its centre (Lee was a regular visitor) and the church where the author is now buried.

For pre-Christmas delivery please place all framed orders by 11 December 2024 and all unframed poster and card orders by 15 December 2024.

If you spend less than £25 there will be a postage charge based on the weight and size of the products matching current Royal Mail prices.

Unframed posters packs of cards are dispatched within 2 working days and sent by Royal Mail Tracked 48, which takes 2-3 working days.

Framed posters

These are printed and hand-framed to order, taking 3-5 working days until dispatch via next-day tracked courier.

High quality print

All designs are original and created from scratch.

The posters are printed in the UK on a high quality digital press. They are printed on heavyweight matte paper and are UV light resistant. 

Unframed prints come clear wrapped and flat to avoid creasing & damage.

Framing

All posters can be framed to order, and are hand-framed in the UK. 

The frames have a 21mm wide edge (23mm deep) and are available in black or white smooth-finished hardwood. Acrylic perspex is used for the glaze, rather than glass as it’s less prone to breakages in shipping and looks just as good on your wall.

Framed orders take 3-5 working days until dispatch from our partner supplier.

Locally designed

All of the poster designs are created by Matt, who lives and works in Malmesbury and grew up in Cirencester. 

Beginning in 2019 with a few designs sold mostly at market stalls, Cotswold Poster Co has now sold over 18,000 posters and cards (both online and to local shops).

2% of all purchases support Glos and Wilts Wildlife Trusts to benefit the local environment.
