Moreton-in-Marsh came to prominence in the thirteenth century as a market town and there still is a busy weekly market today with about 200 stalls attracting many visitors and tourists. There are many 17th and 18th Century buildings lining the High Street. Standing in the centre is the grand Redesdale Hall, which was built in 1887 and is the town's main public hall, now often hosting craft and antiques fairs.
